OK, we just learned that the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors will consider directing staff to research and draft a county-wide ban on one-time-use plastic bags and to find a way to reduce the use of one-time use paper bags, too! AT SURFRIDER, YOU GOTTA KNOW WE WANT THIS TO HAPPEN, BECAUSE WE SUPPORT ACTIONS THAT TEND TO REDUCE MARINE and ENVIRONMENTAL LITTER! We will check-out the actual ordinance after it is written and will decide whether we can support it as is or need to comment further.
