HILT2738Encinitas, California (July30th 2014) Saltwater Collective, in association with Surfers for Cetaceans, is proud to announce the west coast tour of “The Transparentsea Voyage” in benefit of Surfers for Cetaceans. Kicking things off in the heart of the surfing community at the historic RIO Theatre in Santa Cruz California, August 15th and moving all the way south to La Paloma Theatre in San Diego County Aug 21st. The benefit tour, in support of Surfers for Cetaceans efforts to connect people with their local issues, kicks off with a live musical performance by Australia’s own Band of Frequencies. Those in attendance also get a chance to participate in a silent auction and Q & A with the cast and crew about their local social and environmental issues raised in the film.

The documentary highlights the efforts of a group of gifted athletes, musicians, celebrities and artists on a campaign aimed at focusing attention on coastal environmental issues. Experience the voyage from start to finish as the crew traced the southern migration of the California Grey & Blue Whale from Santa Barbara to San Diego in five sailing kayaks. The journey unfolds through the creation of song, as this “behind the music” look at focused activism reveals how an eclectic group of individuals makes a heartfelt connection to the California coastline through creativity and education.

"The opportunity to highlight the issues and work of some fantastic organizations in the film is quite inspiring says Producer/Director, Justin Krumb. I’m stoked to get a chance to bring their work to another level of awareness created by screening the film and sharing the music here in California.”

With the film’s world premier leg of the voyage complete, the California screenings offers a unique chance to visit historic beach towns throughout the state and share the experience of Transparentsea Voyage with so many.
