Time: 11:00 am
NOTE: We have changed locations from Manresa to Cowells. Join us for our Monthly beach clean up at Cowells! Anyone of any age is welcome and invited to help. These clean-ups also provide a source of community volunteer work as required of students in many local schools, clubs and colleges. So bring your sturdy shoes, water, sunblock (or rain gear). Please bring, if possible, your own reusable cleanup items to cut down on waste we produce in cleaning up as well, such as buckets/reusable bags, work or garden gloves. Drop-in and groups are welcome! We also encourage participants to bring their own gloves, grabbers, or buckets. Come on down and help save the beach!

Time: 7:30 pm
Water for Santa Cruz County is a short film (twenty-minute) that examines short- and long-range water source alternatives, and calls citizens, businesses, and other organizations to help shape a sustainable water strategy for Santa Cruz. This movie is the product of six months of research including interviews with city water officials, water treatment plant operators, the county water resources director, and others. Dedicated to the Power of Small Ideas, Education is the first and most important step toward thoughtful, sustainable, community-driven reform. When Water for Santa Cruz, our first movie, premiered in 2013, close to 500 people filled the Rio Theater. People want to know.
