HANDS ACROSS THE SANDS:

AUGUST 4

SURFRIDER BEACH CLEANUP, TOO!

Join a global movement on August 4 at Cowell Beach, next to the Municipal Wharf. Surfrider will host a HATS event at 11:45 a.m. to make a visual statement against offshore oil drilling, exploration, and operations, AND make a positive statement for clean energy!

Hands Across The Sand has been a global success with thousands of events in all 50 states and over 40 countries worldwide, from New Zealand to Hawaii. Joining hands is a powerful way to say NO to offshore drilling and YES to clean energy!

This movement is not about politics — it is about the protection of our coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife and fisheries. The accidents that continue to happen in offshore oil drilling are a threat to all of the above. Expanding offshore oil drilling is not the answer; embracing Clean Energy is.

Please come down and get your toes in the sand: the oil-slick free sand!
We'll join hands across the beach, so let's make it all the way from the Wharf to the Cowell Cove Cliff!

Chapter Education Coordinator Gina Cavuoto invites everyone to join the event. She says we'll gather around 11:45 and join hands and stretch out at 12 Noon.

HATS is a Global Movement so you can probably find an event on a nearby beach wherever you happen to live.

AND HELP OUT WITH A BEACH

CLEANUP WHILE YOU'RE THERE!

WHAT BETTER WAY TO DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU WANT CLEAN BEACHES AND OCEAN WATERS?

Chapter Beach Cleanup Coordinator, Jenn Yuhas, will be there with our cleanup gear, education materials, and chapter banners from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. so please, introduce yourself to Jenn and let's clean up the beach!
