Join us this Saturday for our Annual Coastal Cleanup Day, from 9am-12pm, at Moran Lake Beach as we look to remove more trash from our beaches than collected in 2012. On September 15, 2012, about 3,500 volunteers in Santa Cruz & Monterey Counties worked together to prevent 16,827 lbs. of pollution and debris from trashing our Sanctuary, littering our communities and harming marine life. That's well over 8 tons that was kept from entering the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in just three hours, on one day! Coastal Cleanup Day is what community is all about. Thank you to all of you who made a difference for our blue planet. Over 1,000 volunteers brought their own reusable buckets, bags, gloves, and water bottles to help lower the carbon footprint of Annual Coastal Cleanup Day.
Drop-in and groups welcome. We also encourage participants to bring their own gloves, grabbers, or buckets. Come on down and help save the beach!
