Coastal Clean Up Day a Huge Success

We were super stoked on all of our great volunteers at our annual Coastal Clean Up Day! 35 volunteers removed 67 lbs of trash and 29 lbs of recycling from entering the ocean! The results are in from all of the sites, and on Sept. 20, from 9 a.m.-noon, 3,884 volunteers at 83 sites located between Waddell Creek and Big Sur prevented 21,979 pounds of pollution and debris from entering the bay.

In Santa Cruz County, 2,588 volunteers collected 12,059 pounds of waste. In Monterey County, 1,296 volunteers removed 9,920 pounds of waste. See all of the pics here. Here is a video put together by Chapter Leader Amber Jones:
