We have had a busy month here at Surfrider Santa Cruz! For an ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION, we do the most we can to have a positive impact in our community, all to help protect our oceans, waves, and beaches!
- Huge thanks to Radcliff Elementary, who had 6 classrooms join us over two days for an education presentation and beach clean up at Twin Lakes. They collected 10.2 lbs trash and 5 lbs recycle on the first day, and 10.8 lbs of trash and 6.2 lbs recycling on the same beach the next day! Thank you to Amber Jones and Cindy Yang from Surfrider for leading, and to Mrs. Kuhn for organizing the event on behalf of Radcliff. It was a great day!
- Thank you EMC for sending your employees out to help us clean our beach! Thanks to everyone's efforts 20.2 lbs of trash and 15.5 lbs of recycling was removed today! A Big thank you to Dan Haifley, executive director of O'neill O'Neill Sea Odyssey for coming out and giving the employees a wonderful educational presentation!
- Huge thanks to IHS, Campbell for cleaning up Twin Lakes beach this week! They removed 11 lbs of garbage, 237 butts and 3 lbs of recycling. Thank you Sheridan and Cindy for leading the clean up!
