Recap – Pleasure Point Street Fair

Pleasure Point Street Fair brought the community together and created so much fun for everyone! The dunk tank was the highlight of our day. We can’t thank the coordinators of the street fair enough for having us there and giving us a dunk tank! The dunk tank wouldn’t be any fun without those that offered themselves up to be dunked!!! A BIG Thank You to Tyler Fox and Stephanie from Santa Cruz Waves, Cindy Yang, Laura Anderson, Chay Cruz, Neal Pearlberg from Off The Lip Radio Show , Zac Procter, and Autumn Hayes, and Santa Cruz Waves! BWTF – 20+ Years of Service!

Thank you everyone in Santa Cruz who has helped us get to 20+ years of service for our community!  – The Santa Cruz Chapter was one of the first Surfrider chapters to establish a BWTF water testing program back in 1993.  In fact, they were performing beach water quality tests before CA State law AB411 went into effect requiring local health agencies to start monitoring beach water quality.

We had a great time at our annual International Surfing Day celebration! Led by Vice-Chair Matt Kuhn,  30 volunteers joined for a beach clean up and surf, removing 17 lbs of recycling, and 7.8 lbs of trash from Manresa State Beach! We found 3 bags of human poop, tons of broken glass, plastic, and everything else in between. There was plenty of stoke all around!
