For the past 20 consecutive summers, Couch Distributing (Watsonville, CA) has committed to raising $10,000 annually to support the Surfrider Foundation Santa Cruz Chapter’s’s projects and campaigns through the annual Save Our Surf program.
Started in 1996 by the local distributor of Anheuser-Busch beers and other beverages, the 20 years of the Save Our Surf program has will have raised more than $200,000 to protect our ocean, waves and beaches. local chapter of the Surfirder Foundation for Surfrider Santa Cruz (Couch Distributing pledges a nickel to the Santa Cruz Chapter of Surfrider Foundation for every case of Budweiser and Bud Light sold in Santa Cruz County between Memorial Day and Labor Day).
The money has been used to support the Blue Water Task Force , a weekly water quality monitoring program; rent office space, improve the lab where Surfrider conducts its weekly water quality tests, support outreach and education programs for to local schools, purchase storm-drain stencils and conduct monthly beach cleanups and provide the community with a voice for the health and protection of our ocean.
Join us as we celebrate this awesome partnership with a beach clean up, live music from Tingly, The Wave Tones, and iHeartMedia, complimentary food and beverages (beer 21+), tons of local partners, electricity provided by Sandbar Solar, and good people who are dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our beloved beaches!
