Volunteers of all ages, drop-ins, and groups are welcome!
Beach cleanups provide a great way for students to fulfill community service requirements for schools, clubs, and colleges. We're happy to sign your volunteer forms while you're there.
You’ll start by meeting at a designated beach, where you’ll sign a waiver, receive a quick introduction and safety briefing, and pick up cleanup supplies. From there, you’ll team up with fellow volunteers (or walk alone if you prefer) to comb the beach, collecting any trash from microplastics to larger items and making a tangible impact on the environment and the health and safety of those enjoying it.

Note: Most cleanups are held on Saturday mornings for roughly two hours.
Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, and sun protection (preferably reef-safe sunscreen). There is usually little to no shade, so be prepared.
What to bring:
If you have any questions or want to collaborate on a cleanup, please email volunteercoordinator@santacruz.surfrider.org.
All cleanups are weather permitting. Please check our Facebook Page for updates.
Together, we can make a difference—one beach at a time—and build a stronger, cleaner future for our oceans and communities!
