Calling All Inspired Artists!
We’re excited to kick off a community T-shirt design contest inspired by the creativity and coastal spirit of Santa Cruz. We’re inviting local artists to create an original illustration rooted in Surfrider’s mission:
“Dedicated to the enjoyment and protection of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network.”
Selected designs will be featured on official merchandise that supports our mission, helping raise funds and expand outreach efforts across the community.
Design Brief (Core Requirements):
We’re looking for original designs that reflect both our mission and our local identity. Please review the following requirements before submitting:

Artwork must be inspired by Surfrider’s mission: “Dedicated to the enjoyment and protection of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network.”

Original artwork only (No AI)

Maximum 3 colors

Color of shirt: Black or White

You may submit up to 3 artworks
- The selected artist’s design will be featured on the back center of the T-shirt, and the Surfrider Santa Cruz Chapter logo will be placed on the front
