Beach Cleanup Stations

Thank You for Helping Keep Our Beaches Beautiful

Beach Cleanup Stations

Thank you for being part of the solution!

Every piece of trash removed from the beach helps protect wildlife, improve water quality, and keep our coastline healthy for everyone to enjoy. With just a few minutes of your time, you can make a real difference.

How It Works

  1. Grab a cleanup basket from the station.
  2. Collect any litter you see during your walk on the beach, coastal trail, or parking area.
  3. Dispose of the collected trash in the nearby trash receptacle.
  4. Return the basket when you're finished.

That's it! Whether you pick up one bottle cap or fill an entire basket, every item removed helps prevent pollution from entering the ocean.

Why Participate?

Beach litter doesn't just disappear. Plastic, food wrappers, cigarette butts, and other debris can harm marine life, pollute our waterways, and eventually break down into microplastics.

By taking a cleanup basket on your walk, you're helping to:

  • Protect marine wildlife
  • Reduce plastic pollution
  • Keep our beaches clean and welcoming
  • Support a healthier ocean for future generations
  • Inspire others to take action

Small actions add up. Together, we can create cleaner beaches and healthier oceans.

Community Partners

This Beach Cleanup Basket Station is made possible through a partnership between the City of Capitola, Surfrider Foundation Santa Cruz, and the Coastal Collaborative, a community initiative led by Relic Design that supports projects focused on coastal stewardship, environmental education, and ocean conservation.

Together, we're working to make it easier for everyone to take small actions that create a cleaner, healthier coastline.
